Investigating Canadian Puppy Mills

Jen & Noelle

On last week’s Animal Voices we interviewed HSUS’s Issues Specialist, Adam Goldfarb, about puppy mills in the United States. This week we turn our attention to Canada. We will speak with Pierre Barnoti, the Executive Director of the Montréal SPCA, and Jennifer Dickson from the Animal Advocates Society of BC. Barnoti will explain why puppy mills proliferate in Québec, and Jennifer Dickson will share her first-hand account of puppy mill investigations in British Columbia.

If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to be an animal cruelty investigator, or wanted to learn more about dog breeding in Canada and why our laws keep failing animals, please tune in. Despite considerable obstacles, advocates continue to fight back and rescue dogs from truly gruesome conditions.
